The desert, Me and work spaces.
Wow its been a crazy couple of weeks. So far i've been doing lots of moving from one place to another. This place is crazy hot sometimes. The sun is so bright here and the sand gets into your eyes a lot. The showers are cold and most of the drinking water is hot, but other than that I guess it’s not so bad. We have to drink out of water bottles here because the tap water is filthy, which is weird because we wash our hands with that water. The dust is everywhere. We’ll sweep the floor and an hour later it will have a thin layer of dust on it. There is no escape from dirt and dust here. My hands feel dirty all the time, which sucks. We wash our hands before chow and 5 minutes later when your about to eat you can feel the dust on your hands already. This place is nothing like what I pictured in any movie or photograph. Also, the flight line is right behind where I sleep so jets are taking off and landing all the time. We have harriers here too, and they make a huge noise when they land. It seriously sounds like a rocket is about to crash into you. The ground actually shakes when a jet takes off and lands, we are that close. But don’t get me wrong, nothing out here is so unbearable that I just couldn’t handle it. It’s just like living out in a desert. Anybody could live out here but you need to make some serious adjustments.
